Change color of water RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

As you know in bing aerial map, water is represented with a very dark color, almost black, is it possible to change this color only, we want to use Aerial map and have water look like more water like Google's map which has a lighter color.

    Thanks in advance,

    (We are using WPF component)

    -Matt

  • No. Aerial tiles are pre-rendered raster images and cannot be altered.

  • No. The aerial imagery can't be modified. The water color changes depending on where you are in the world and the zoom levels you are at. Any hack you may create will likely end with a poor result.

  • I think MapTileLayer would work for this kind of purposes I've found a map tile and overlay the map, water color changed to normal, check image below

There are some companies provide these kind of map tile layers so this might be a solution for those who want to have different color preference. I believe there is also a custom tile solution which is another option.
