Extending SMB protocol on Windows RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know SMB has had a few vendor specific extensions over the years and the official protocol docs from Microsoft mention a few areas where the protocol can be extended. One such example is the UNIX extensions on SMB1.

Is it possible to extend the Windows Server SMB server implementation to support custom protocol extensions? I'm specifically wondering about SMB2+. If so, could you please point me in the direction of the docs?
