Where is an assembly that is loaded with assembly.loadfrom() stored? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I'm using a CAD program (BricsCAD) where I have written an application on top of it. I'm able to load an assembly(.DLL) by using the Assembly.LoadFrom() command. Now my question is where is this assembly stored? Do I need to use Appdomain that the assembly is loaded within BricsCAD and is disposed when BricsCAD closes?

    Kind regards!

  • I'm not sure what you're asking, the assembly is "stored" in the file where you loaded it from and is mapped in memory like all other dlls. And of course it will be unmapped from memory when the process closes, there's nothing specific you need to do about that.
