Help with Visual Code in Ubuntu RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello and thanks for checking my post.

    I've been using Visual Studio in Windows for a couple years now but just starting changing to Visual Code in Linux.

    I followed the instillation instruction from the Microsoft dotnet page and everything seemed to work just fine..

    I created the sample hwapp and ran it in VS terminal and it ran fine with no errors.

    But when I went to debug, it gives me an error of .. Error: Debug adapter process has terminated unexpectedly ..

    I have the C# and all the other needed extensions installed...

    Please help !

    I'm running Ubuntu 16.

    Just in case these are important..

    This is what my launch.json looks like:

        "version": "0.2.0",
        "configurations": [
                "name": ".NET Core Launch (console)",
                "type": "coreclr",
                "request": "launch",
                "preLaunchTask": "build",
                "program": "${workspaceRoot}/bin/Debug/netcoreapp1.1/hwapp.dll",
                "args": [],
                "cwd": "${workspaceRoot}",
                "externalConsole": false,
                "stopAtEntry": false,
                "internalConsoleOptions": "openOnSessionStart"
                "name": ".NET Core Attach",
                "type": "coreclr",
                "request": "attach",
                "processId": "${command.pickProcess}"

    and this is tasks.json..

        "version": "0.1.0",
        "command": "dotnet",
        "isShellCommand": true,
        "args": [],
        "tasks": [
                "taskName": "build",
                "args": [
                "isBuildCommand": true,
                "problemMatcher": "$msCompile"
