Loading this assembly would produce a different grant set from other instances. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131401) in outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have created a plugin for outlook with "Add in express" tool to show the selected team's members' calender folders for certain dates. Redemption is being used to get the calendar appointments.

The plugin is in use for several weeks now without any problem and suddenly 2 of the customers are getting this exception after 3 weeks of usage.

    Exception Type:        System.IO.FileLoadException

Exception Message:     Loading this assembly would produce a different grant set from other instances. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131401)

They are not able to open anything in outlook, not even a mail in inbox.

    Machine 1: Windows 7, outlook 2010, 64 bit

Machine 2: Windows XP, outlook 2010, 32 bit

After installing this hotfix, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981574, the problem is not there for Windows 7 machine, but for XP, it is still there.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Gera

  • Hi,

I did some searching internally here and people who have reported this error say it's resolved by installing this:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2518864.  Can you please verify that this hot fix is installed?
