Kiosk mode for Windows Mobile 6 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is there any effective way of developing a WM6 application using the Kiosk mode?
I have read that it would be difficult to achieve this... and also Microsoft doesn´t give any support.

Thanks in advance. Any help will be grateful.

  • It's not really supported on Windows Mobile at all.  For more details you can see this:

    From the link:

This brings me talking about supporting developers with problems when writing a kiosk-mode application. The Microsoft Windows *Mobile* platforms do not support a "Kiosk" type solution. It is designed from a PDA background, where the user is in control of the device rather than any one user application. There is always going to be some UI event that will cause the kiosk mode to be broken out of. This is true of Windows Mobile 2003, 5.0 and 6, and for both Pocket PC or Smartphone.

It takes all the running you can do to stay in one place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must try to run at least twice as fast as that.
