mds 2012 & excel 2010 RRS feed

  • I'm connect via the IE just fine  using

    http://localhost/mds

    when i'm connecting using excel 2010 add-on at the same server , it error out. Do I need to specify the port number? If so, how to find the port number?  I didn't use a port number via IE.

    it is the silly UI.  It has a field ask for "MDS server address" starting with http://

    an improvement will be asking for "MDS URL"  http://locahost/mds  .  the web application alias needs to be included.

    or just ask for the "URL for MDS"

    server address is liked, IP and hostname only, the /mds isn't a part of server address

    Besides, for the UI in MDS, you can submit a feedback at http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is resolved in the next release of service pack or product.
