Why do I not see the Content Control frame? RRS feed

Answers

  • The reason the content control is not showing is because of the following element:

    <

    w:docPartObj>

    Remove this element and the content control layer will show.

  • Hello Dave,

    Thanks for posting. When turning on the design mode in Word 2007, it is obvious that this "Page 1 of 1\n\n" is not in a content control. How do you put this part into content control? Would you please share simple steps with us? So that we could follow it to reproduce this issue?

    We are looking forward to your response. Have a nice day.

    Best regards,

  • Bessie;

    It is a content control. Please open the docx file in winzip and then open document.xml. The "Page 1 of 1" is inside a <w:sdt> node. That's what is so weird - that it doesn't show that in Word.

    thanks - dave

  • The docPartObj indicates that the content control should be part of quick parts or building blocks. This element really only make sense for templates.
