  • how do I get rid of Silverlight. it won't let me run iexplorer 11?

  • Hi,

    According to official document, Silverlight is compatible with IE 11 in Windows 8.1 Desktop. If you want to fix the problem, you may try doing the folowings:

    • Open Internet Explorer 11, press Alt key on the keyboard to pull-up menu bar.
    • Select Tools, click on Compatibility view Settings. Add the webpages in compatibility view box.
    • Make sure “Display intranet sites in Compatibility View “and “Use Microsoft Compatibility Lists” options are checked.
    • Click on close, restart IE and check if it makes any difference.

    If you want to uninstall Silverlight, you may follow the steps below:

    1. Go to Start menu.

    2. Go to Control Panel

    3. Open Add or Remove programs.

    4. Choose Microsoft Silverlight in Add Remove Programs Dialog box.

    5. Click on Remove

    6. It asks you for the confirmation.

    7. Click YES to Uninstall the Silverlight
