Bing Maps can not locate me on Surface tablet RRS feed

  • I have a microsoft Surface pro 2 table.  Bing MAps (will be blurry) and Google maps (error message: can not find a wifi connection) can not finds it owns location.  I know the WIFI connection works since I surf the web.  Privacy setting is turned "on" for both applications.

    Assistance required.

  • The surface tablet does not have a GPS. The only way it can determine locations is by looking at the SSID of the WiFi access point you are attached to and seeing if it has a location registered for that access point. Not every access point has been registered, so it's not at all uncommon that the position is unknown. In the bing maps app, you can set your position manually.
