Infopath 2013 Make all fields under a group mandatory RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

I have an Infopath Form with many fields. I have arranged these fields under a common heading. For eg. Under my Job Status heading I have fields like Job Title, Job Status etc etc .. I want all fields to be mandatory.. But instead of setting "Cannot Be Blank" option in each field,, I want my Job Status Heading containing all controls to be mandatory..

Currently Job Status is simply a LABEL..

    Please suggest a method.

  • Hi Shubh,

As my understanding, you want to make all fields under a group mandatory via a label configuration.

Per my knowledge, we could not create rules for a label. Then I thought we could add all fields in a scetion. However, when I create a rule for this section, the Validation is not available like the screeshot:

Then per my knowledge, there is no way to make all field under a group mandatory via a control configuration.

As a workaround, you need to make each field mandatory("Cannot be blank" in each field settings or validation rules) to do it.

    Thanks,

    Wendy

  • Thanks Wendy. I concluded that we cannot make a set of fields collectively mandatory...
