  • ensure that assembly SampleTesting.dll is installed to the GAC (C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL). If it is there and you activate feature from UI (Site settings > Site features), then try to make iisreset or app pool recycle and activate it again. If you activate it from PowerShell, restart PowerShell console and try again.

  • Hi,

If the assembly contains any event or feature receivers then the deployment target should be Global Assembly Cache. And if you deploy the solution using a command line then you should start a new instance of that before activating the feature as an old version of the dll can't be unloaded.

  • Hi,

Please try to add the .dll file into C:\Windows\assembly.

Or try to add the .dll file into C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\<port>\bin folder.

Or please provide more details about how to reproduce this issue, others would get easier to research on it.

    Best Regards,

    Dennis
