SQL 2005 with Sharepoint 2007? RRS feed

  • Hi Everyone, Im trying to install MS Sharepoint2007 and trying to connect to SQL Server 2005 , and i keep getting this error any advice? Has any one came accross this problem of connection issue? any one solved it? even if i put the administrator username and password on the sql server it gives me this error. Ive even created a Northwind test database to see if it works but not a chance throws a error saying must  delete all the fields

  • The solution was that SQL2005 has different security levels, unlike sql2000 when you give admin it gives you every control but sql2005 you will have to select the privileges one by one

  • Can you check the privileges for the SQL Server services account or is it running with local system account?

  • what specifically did you do to make it work? i am getting this same issue and the userid i am using is local domain admin, dbcreator and securityadmin.

     

    what other privileges does it need?

  • I logged in with the farm account and for some reason, althought it had the access as the setup account, it worked.

  • I am in need of direction I am attempting to install MOSS 2007 however the 2nd portion of the install fails with the following error message -
     
    Failed to create the configuration database.

    I have verified all of the required settings including Surface Area configuration of SQL 2005 for remote connections.
     
    I'm running  Server 2003, IIS configured, SQL pacthed SP2.
     
    Performing install with Admin rights - install documentaion recommends that the user have Domain rights.
     
    Server not apart of a domanin (one has not been created)
    Is there any help out there I need to get this machine up company has plans to create a sharepoint farm on hosted servers

  • It hapeened to me a a week ago. The issue had nothing to do with SQL-Server. It was due to IIS being corrupted.

     

    We reinstalled IIS, .net framework 3.o (with asp.net 2.0),then sharepoint and its patches and the issue was gone.
