appdev.microsoft.com has been returning a 403 since Tuesday RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've had several people confirm it, so I don't thing it is me, but when I try and look at https://appdev.microsoft.com/StorePortals/en-us/Developer/Catalog/ReleaseAnchor (for instance) I get this:

    HTTP Error 403.0 - Forbidden

You do not have permission to view this directory or page.

    • This is a generic 403 error and means the authenticated user is not authorized to view the page.

    • Create a tracing rule to track failed requests for this HTTP status code. For more information about creating a tracing rule for failed requests, click here.
This generic 403 error means that the authenticated user is not authorized to use the requested resource. A substatus code in the IIS log files should indicate the reason for the 403 error. If a substatus code does not exist, use the steps above to gather more information about the source of the error.

    Is anyone looking into this?

  • Are you logged into a different Microsoft account in another browser tab or browser session?  Make sure you are logged out of any other Microsoft accounts and try again.

Can you log into https://appdev.microsoft.com/storeportals ?

  • HEY that worked! It texted me some code. For 3 days on three machines the link from Visual Studio just sent me a 403.

Now works from Visual Studio. Thanks!
