Update headers and footers automatically RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI Guys,

I was interested in finding how to automatically update the header and footer by including these when I update the main document.  I normally select all via CRL A and then select F9.  This automatically updates all fields and tables etc except the header and footer info in Word 2010?

Can you help me, please advise the best/quickest way to update the document...

    cheers,

    Don't know

  • Depending on the type of field(s) involved, switching to Print Preview (Ctrl+F2) and then closing the preview (ESC) may work.

If you want a macro solution, you can have the macro switch views for you. Or you can make use of the example macro in Graham Mayor's article at http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm. When you run it, it updates all fields in all "stories," including headers and footers.
