Forms-based authentication and Windows Authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • Here's the Project Server 2010 setup I have. A PWA site is provisioned on a sharepoint web application which uses Windows authentication. This web application is extended for external access. Forms-based authentication is used for external access.

My question is, can the same user which is defined in Project Server login using both methods (internally, using Windows authentication AND externally, using forms-based authentication)? do I need to create two accounts under PWA for the same user?!

    Any help is very appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Each user can only have one authentication method associated with it.  When a user hits the site, they will be prompted for authentication.  Surely at this stage a user can enter either domain\user or formsbased\user....

  • Is there anyway at all to associate the user under PWA with both identities, the windows identity (domain\user) and the forms-based identify (memberhip:username), so that the same user can login using both methods?

    Thanks.
