GPS not working in Windows 8 Release Preview RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since I upgraded to Windows 8 Release Preview I no longer get location information. Is there any driver or piece of software that I'm missing?

I also recall that in Windows 8 Consumer Preview I would get location services even on PCs without GPS (IP-based I presume). This seems to be gone too. Is there any way this can be fixed?

The driver mentioned there is the latest available. It does stop working once in a while though.

  • You could also install GeoSense

  • I no longer have GPS working, but location services is working and it guesses to my location via IP address.

I do not have any missing devices and I see that Microsoft Location Services is a driver that is installed but no idea on how to get GPS to function again
