Bulletlist and protected forms RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

In our Word-integrated COM-Addin we sometimes use protected forms in some parts of a document to handle input of information.

Now, we've discovered that if the document consists of 2 sections and one is protected and the other one not, the use of bulleted and/or numbered lists are locked down in the user interface. The user can not use bulleted or numbered lists in the open part of the document.

Is this a bug or is it somthing in Word configuration thtat has to be changed?

This behaviour is consistent even if we disable our COM-Addin.

  • Hi Peter

This is "by design" and has to do with forms protection.

But if you provide the functionality via code, with your own buttons, Word should be able to give you bullet points and numbering that way. Basically, that means you have to define what kinds of bullets and numbering are allowed and provide that functionality to the user via your interface.
