Microsoft Word Macro-Enabled Template (.dotm) does not retain Macros thru OLE Automation RRS feed

  • Question

  • So we have 2 Word documents. The first is a Microsoft Word Macro-Enabled Template (.dotm) that has a button on it that runs a macro. We then save this as a Microsoft Word Macro-Enabled Document (.docm). It too has the same button and macro.

Now in a Microsoft Access 365 Form, we drop 2 Unbound Object Frames; the first one is for the .dotm file and the 2nd is for the .docm file.

Now when we View the Form and double click on the first OLE control, it opens the expected .dotm file, but there are no macros attached to the file, whereas if we double click to activate the 2nd OLE control for the .docm file, the macros appear.

Why is that? Any help is appreciated.
