    I binged for a solution, but to no avail.

    Have your project set as UNICODE? It works fine on my windows10, vs2015. Here is my code snippet.

  • It seems Jamiil got it to work. I, however, after applying the above solution, could not get it to work. I am using VS15 on a Win10 platform and I'm having the exact same problem. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Have you saved your .cpp file in UTF-16 encoding or UTF-8 without the "BOM" marker?

  • I followed these steps 

    Open the file again, make an arbitrary change and click File + Save As. Click the arrow on the Save button and select "Save with Encoding". Select "Unicode (UTF8 with signature) - Codepage 65001".

    but it did not work.
