sql server management studio RRS feed

  • Question

  • My PC runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I installed VS2010 Pro, which installed SQL Server 2008 64-bit. In "Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program", some lines associated with SQL Server contain the string "2008 R2". Some contain the string "2008" without the "R2". Installing VS2010 did not install SQL Server Management Studio, (SSMS). I am trying to find the correct version of SSMS and install it. I am not having any luck.

  • I uninstalled all SQL Server items that came with VS2010 Pro. I installed from file SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.exe. That fixed the problem. I now have SSMS.
