Hosting .Net Application with SQL Server 2008 in Linux

Greetings for the day.

I just wanted to clarify, if we can host .net application with sql server as back end in Linux server? Kindly reply as soon as possible.

SQL Server is only available for Windows platforms.However, the SQL Server ODBC driver enables you to access SQL Server from applications running on Linux and UNIX platforms.

Microsoft® SQL Server® ODBC Driver 1.0 for Linux is a Linux driver for native connectivity to an MSSQL Server database. The following is download link.
