USB3.0 xHCI Windows 8.1 streaming issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a driver isochronously streaming  over USB for low latency audio. It has been working rock solid since Win XP to Win 8 with drivers supplied by Intel or other chipset suppliers. However, with the driver included in Win8.1 from MS we see that the xHCI driver sometimes stops sending IN-Tokens for approx 5ms, which of course leads to stream interruptions.

Can somebody help me to point to the correct person in Microsoft or knows how to circumvent this problem?

Answers

  • Possibly you've hit into a bug in the Win8.1 USB drivers. Try to call the MS product support. If this is indeed their bug, they give the money back. Else, you may benefit from solving the issue faster.
