  • Why does this smell like spam to me? How to validate a site is easy, IE has Developer Tool that offers validation ass one of its choices. If you were using EW then you could run the compatiblity reports.

Spam or not, it's quite incomplete. I clicked on the Word link, and there's nothing there of consequence. The two video links are the only thing working as of now, and it seems at least some of it may be free.

  • What a crock of malarkey! I'm with Cheryl; this stinks of SPAM. It is inappropriate solicitation, regardless of whether they're charging for that ridiculous "tutorial" content (which would be a real trick if anyone would actually pay for such tripe).

Not only that, the nature of the post itself confers a high bogosity rating on it. If this "friend" does recognize standards-compliant markup, he doesn't need anyone to tell him whether the site is compliant. If he doesn't know how to recognize standards-compliant markup, then he won't be able to fix anything that isn't compliant. In the current instance, the latter is applicable, given the use of forty consecutive non-breaking spaces for positioning of one phrase, and the unnecessary use of the CSS position attribute where margins and padding would have sufficed.

Curiosity will impel many to investigate the site anyway. Just don't have your hopes or your expectations up for anything beyond amateurish rubbish.
