Multi-Targeted Project References not working. vb.net.v2 -> cs.net.v3.5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Any one know why I can't seem to reference a cs.net v3.5 project from my vb.net v2.0 project using visual studio 2013? It puts a yellow triangle on the reference in the references tree. Additionally When I try to reference the v3.5's exe it lets me without the reference error, but when when I try to access the methods from my v2.0 project during compilation it fails saying they don't exist (intellisense finds them before compilation tho). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It is not recommand to do that. Both .NET 3.5 and .NET 2.0 are bases on CLR 2.0.  But .NET 3.5 has added more functions or libraries. For example LINQ WPF WCF etc. If your cs.net 3.5 project has used the new features. It will can't be referenced in .NET 2.0 project.
