uncheck save autorecover information every x minutes RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have facing the following problem discussed in design science forum TechNote #103::

    https://dessci.com/en/support/mathtype/tsn/tsn103.htm

    in this article, in prevention heading, Microsoft recommends turning off the Auto-save function in Word.

    I have a document that uses ribbon xml to disable some features like SAVE, CUT, COPY, ...

    <tab idMso="TabSave" visible="false"/>

    <command idMso="Cut" enabled="false" />
    <command idMso="Copy" enabled="false" />

    Question:

    I need to uncheck save autorecover information every x minutes using word document without scripting.

    is this possible? else advise how to do this using word document.

  • Hi,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

    We could find the option in Word 2013 as below:

    We could also find the option in Word 2007 and Word 2010 (click file-> options).

    If you want to uncheck the option by importing a XML file, I’m afraid it is impossible.

    In fact, most of Ribbons and context menus are stored in custom configuration file, so we could change them by importing a custom file.

    However, the option named ‘save autorecover information every x minutes’ is not stored in configuration file.

    Here is a blog for your reference:

    Hope this helps.
