Add Data automatically at the first of the month Access DataBase C# RRS feed

  • Question

  • Looking for information on how to add information to a column in a Access DataBase. Column (Time) add 13.33 at the first of every month. How can I record each time the app is ran and if opened on the first of the month it will enter data?

  • So, are you writing a C# application that talks to an access database?  What you'd asked seems pretty straightforward.  During your app initialization, you'll need to read something (from another table in the database, maybe?) that tells you whether you've added the time for this month yet.  If you haven't, then add the 13.33 and update your marker so you don't do it again until next month.

  • You can use the Task Scheduler to execute your program every month. Based on experience, be sure to have a way for errors to be logged so they can be seen later and ensure there is a way for someone to know that an error occurred.
