Recovering Lightswitch Project from IIS server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All, I'm hoping someone here can save me. I have been building an application in lightswitch (VS2013 Professional) in vb. I have just come back from a week off and the solution file is coming up with all sorts of errors saying the metadata has been changed outside the designer. What i'm wondering is if it is possible to download the currently running application from the IIS and SQL server? as it is still running absolutely perfectly on them it is just the solution that won't work.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

  • Do you have another machine you can try opening the project on?  There is no way to do what you are asking here.  The files deployed to the IIS server are very different than the LightSwitch project files.

Our best option is to try to figure out what is corrupt metadata and fix it.  I don't suppose you use source code control and could sync to an earlier iteration of the project...
