  • Currently, how do you determine that the file is received?

the solution you are looking for is more related to your business process and less towards BTS. Nonetheless, please shed some more light into the details like file type, transport, security et. al

  • Hi Monika,

There are many options available for you.

Refer: How to alert user using BizTalk if a file is not dropped in a folder during a specified time using file adapter (or any other)

    1) Using BizTalk 360: Check the following link to know more about its capabilities.

    http://blogs.biztalk360.com/biztalk360-version-7-8-released-advanced-process-monitoring/

    2) Here is one technique for detecting missing events from the BizTalk Wiki well explained by John: Using of Convoy:

    BizTalk: Detecting a Missing Message

    3) When you received a file, send the file to an archived location (some backup location). Run a scheduled task/program/service which should check if the file is present in the archived/backed up folder. If the file is not present then send alert.

    4) Using BAM alerts for this requirement of sending alert when file is NOT processed. You have to configure a BAM, then alerts and then another process (job) to check whether this alert has been sent or not.

    5) Run a scheduled task/program/service which would check the tracking db to see whether this message has been processed at a specific time, if now send an alert.

  • Follow the steps outlined in this Wiki Article:

BizTalk Server: Detecting a Missing Message or Orchestration, V2

This is exactly what you need though you will have to decide the exact Alert mechanism for you situation, email, Event, etc.

  • You can achieve this in 10-15 minutes by using the free version of our BizTalk monitoring tool AIMS. Any port or orchestration can have this type of alert set. You can sign up and get instant access here: http://www.aimsinnovation.com/aims-free
