For a route, any advantage to specifing waypoint as address rather than point? RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I create a route, I have both lat/lon info and full address available to me.  Bing maps routing api will accept either one.  I've been using lat/lon e.g.
     wp.0=38.5687,-121.4160
    but wondering if it is preferable to use address, e.g.
    wp.0=86+Pike+Pl%2C+Seattle%2C+WA+98101
    For instance, does using an address help Bing route such that the direction of travel corresponds to the correct side of the street for the waypoint?

  • Hi Cosmo,

    Your start and end points will set direction and you can order the waypoints as you see fit. There is no directionality to a point, only to a leg on a route.
