Azure Table on WCF Role? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using VS2010 building my first Azure Table application. I'd like to use WCFRole to expose the Azure table(s) to a Winforms Client.

    Inhertiting my DataTable from TableServuceEntity, and hand cobbling the SDataSource and ServiceContext seems to work. I can even discover it on the Winforms client but I get the message
    ---------------------------
    There was an error downloading metadata from the address. Please verify that you have entered a valid address.(Probably a generic message hiding some mistake Ii made)

    While I guess I could hand cobble the Metadata it seems there must be a better way.

    Anybody know an example of AzureTable in Winforms?/WPF even?

    Don't need the solution just a plan.

    Thanks

  • Hello, are you trying to add a service reference? In this case, due to a bug in WCF, you need to download a hotfix from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977420, and apply a workaround described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971842/:

    <serviceBehaviors>
      <behavior name="<name>">
       <useRequestHeadersForMetadataAddress>
        <defaultPorts>
         <add scheme="http" port="81" />
         <add scheme="https" port="444" />
        </defaultPorts>
       </useRequestHeadersForMetadataAddress>
      </behavior>
    </serviceBehaviors>
