Where do I find .Net Framework 3.5 install file?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to install .NET Framework 3.5. I googled, and found this link to be at the top:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

However, the Download at this URL is just a boot-strapper. I need to install the framework on other machines which are not connected to the Internet. So, I need the actual install file.

At the botton of this page, I found the link to the following gigantic (231 MB) file:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/0/f/60fc5854-3cb8-4892-b6db-bd4f42510f28/dotnetfx35.exe

Anyhow, I downloaded it, and when I tried to install it on a machine, it stilll said it needed to download the 51 MB .NET Framework 3.5. The system did not had Net access, and I continued with the installation. The setup showed the download to be successful, and than began installation, but crashed immediately.

Now, where do I locate .NET Framework 3.5?? I hope it should be around 50-55 MBs in size. So, what does this gigantic file contains, whose name is also dotnetfx35.exe???
