Sync SQL database on PocketPC in VB RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm doing an application in VB 2008 for a PocketPC (Windows CE 5.0) that will collect data and store them in a SQL Mobile database. Data have to be sync with a SQL Server 2008 R2 Express on a host computer throught WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center). Host O/S is Windows 7 Pro 32 bits.

How can I do that? what is the best practice?

thanks for your time and help

  • Hello Dominic,

For data sync in PPC and Desktop you can refer below threads which is already discussed for the same.

  • thanks for the replies.

I'm trying to setup a RDA connection but it doesn't work. IIS is setup, Virtual Directory is setup, but when I call the Pull method, I get an error stating the SQL Server is not found (although the connectionstring is correct).

    any idea would be appreciate

  • ok, connectionstring was not correct. I got it working with the following string:

    connString As String = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=localhost,49446;Initial Catalog=DBTest;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=username;Password=abc123;"

RDA Pull and Push method now works fine. thanks for your help!
