Media Foundation multiple stream issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

I'm currently trying to broadcast 2 videos using Media Foudation video players(about the same code as in the "BasicPlayback" sample source) on the same screen.
Unfortunatly, the video playback is severely damaged when doing this.

For example, I tried to do this (for the record, I'm operating on a Windows 7 with lastests updates) :
    1) open a H264 1920x1080 video with the "BasicPlayback" software from the samples. Everything is smooth for now.
    2) opend a 2nd H264 1920x1080 video with the same software. Now both video are rendered very slowly.

I have 2 graphic cards on my computers. So now, if I do the same manipulation opening a "BasicPlayback" video on each graphic card, the playback of both videos is smooth.
Never, during theses tests, has the CPU reached more than 50% usage and the GPU 40% usage

    So, here is my question:
Is there some kind of single stream per device limitation with Media Foundation, or have I missed some kind of tweeking in the "BasicPlayback" code?

    Help would really be appreciated.

    Thanks.
