SSAS Tabular Translations don't appear on Excel RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, i need help on SSAS translations not appearing on Excel. I have a tabular model developed on SSDT, and for some reasons i'm trying a French translation associated to my language pt-PT, so that in my personal VM with portuguese settings i can confirm it works.

What happens is that the translation doesn't work, i have to force the LocaleIdentifier=2070 (for Portugal) on the Excel connection and then it appears with the changes.

Does someone know or have any idea why do i have to force the LocaleIdentifier? Basically, if i don't force this attribute on connection, translations don't work.

I don't know if i'm missing something basic, of if it's something related with the VMs on the organization, because, though my VM has portuguese regional settings, i work for a French company, so maybe there is some French configuration on my Windows that i have to change...

(BTW, In PBI Desktop, the same is happening - I can't see the translations associated to my language, and as i'm connected to a SSAS tabular, i can't change the settings in the PBI report file... does someone know can i change them????)

    Thank you and best regards.
