WinDBG and "no runnable debugees" (C# and Winsock code) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have written an application for Windows 7 using C#. I am using WinDBG for debugging. I point WinDbg to all the directories sym, source and image. I end up with "no runnable debugees error in 'g'". I am wondering what can be done. It is a Winsock application and is halting on socket.RecvFrom(); but only when ping is disabled by firewall on the target machine. That is why I am debugging. I am hoping to get an answer soon so I don't have to rewrite my application for WinPCap.

    Thank You!
    Sepoto.

  • Hi,

Thansk for your post. Could you be more specific about hwo you debug your application? Have your tried starting your application first and then attach the windbg to the running process? Also, for questions related to debugging, please consider microsoft.public.windbg newsgroup as a better option.

Please mark the right answer at the right time.
    Thanks,
