debugging within a try catch statement (disabling try catch)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying  to debug within a try catch statement to uncover an error. Normally I comment out the try catch bits and debug. Problem is I am using nested try catch statements and that makes my troublshooting more difficult. Is there a way around this such as disabling try catch to aid in debugging?

  • Kind of... you can make the debugger break on any CLR exception.

Click the Debug, Exceptions... menu command.  Put a check in the box for the Thrown column in the Common Language Runtime Exceptions row.
