Hide the Explorer View Forms Folder

Hi

I read a lot about the forms folder not being able to be hidden in explorer view.
The only solution I saw was (a) to disable webdav entierly or (b) to change a setting on the client machine to hide hidden folders.

I have no influence on the client machine, and I want to allow webdav and explorer view.

If people are allowed to create, update and delete files via webdav, they might also be able to delete the forms folder. And this, to my understanding, is a danger to the stability of the site.


What has to be done, in order to hide the forms folder?
What are the solutions people use, since this seems to be a big danger?

Hello,

 

After research, I’ve found that is by design. The cause of your issue is that you didn’t grand correct permissions to users. In fact, only users with permission level equal to “Design” or even higher can delete content of Forms folder. So, what you should do is to assign only “contribute” permission level to those users. Thus, though they can view the forms folder, they are not able to delete it.
