  • I haven't used it so don't have an opinion, but there's been lots of discussion of it on Foxite. In addition, we'll be having a session about it about Southwest Fox this year: http://swfox.net/SessionsSWFOX.aspx#VFP_Advanced_Is_This_the_Next_Visual_FoxPro

  • VFP Advanced is an envelope (even 64 bit!) around VFP 9 adding some extended functionality and bug fixes. It is worth to try but I would guess it cannot become widely acceptable VFP 9 replacement.

    1. It does not have stable company behind itself
    2. It does not bring any new modern language enhancement (Unicode support, new data types)
    3. It does not extend usable RAM in 64 bit environment

What we would need is VFP 9 as open source. This could then be maintained by our community and extended regularly.

  • My opinion, X# might be the more viable option to consider: https://xsharp.info

Having said that, Eric Selje is going to do a presentation at SWFOX regarding it.  The X# DevTeam is also a sponsor and will have a Post-conference training session.  You can have a look at these links:
