Microsoft stopping silverlight support RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I am suggesting my client to use visifire for their reporting purpose.

But my client came back with surprising notes: "Microsoft stopping silverlight support, they are more concentrating on HTML 5".

Even Fusion Charts, CEO is telling the same with us in written "Silverlight seems to be a dead platform. The entire XAML team has been moved to work with the Windows 8 Division. . The Silverlight 5 that is being released is a culmination of their previous efforts, and no further releases should be expected.

Please let me know guys, whether Microsoft is really stopping silverlight support after v5. or not. This is a big debate going on online. Why microsoft is not responding on this?

    Thanks in advance

  • If you want to ask about Silverlight's future, you'll get the best feedback either by contacting Microsoft directly, or by asking in the Silverlight forums, here:

    http://forums.silverlight.net/

This forum supports .NET Framework installation and setup.

  • Perhaps because Microsoft has not, in fact, made any "official" decision to discontinue the technology.

I suggest that you go back to your original source (your client), or contact the "Fusion Charts, CEO" and get their sources for this.

I googled your topic and, interestingly, most of the hits come from your posts.

This could be the source of the rumors:
