Can Write To Remote Private Queue But CANNOT Read from same Queue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have the latest version of MSMQ running on Windows Server 2016 on Azure. (Domain)

I have written a small client running on a Windows 10 Pro desktop. (WorkGroup - Non-Domain)

I create a queue object and can do a send and the message instantly arrives at the remote private queue on the server.

I don't believe its a rights issue or a firewall issue since the client can find and send messages (non-transactional)

However, when I attempt to read from the queue or even call the queue.CanRead property, it just blocks for 5 - 10 seconds and then throws an exception of 'Remote computer is not available'.

Clearly it is if I can send messages.

I am also using the same queue object. (queue.send - Works, next line of code queue.recieve - Fails)

I have set the registry entry 'NewRemoteReadServerAllowNoneSecurityClient' to 1 and changed the queue security permissions to 'Full Access' for anonymous and even Everyone.

    What am I missing?

    Thank In Advance

    Ben
