The Inspector team is happy to announce the availability of the 0.6.0 bug fix and feature release!

This release brings a huge under the hood change: we have switched to Microsoft's Roslyn compiler which surfaces a huge set of new features!

    • More complete C# scripting dialect that includes support for declaring methods and classes
    • Comprehensive code completion that is more in line with Xamarin Studio and Visual Studio 2015
    • Faster compilation and results

We've also introduced a better editor experience:

    • Syntax highlighting
    • Inline "live" diagnostics
    • Multi-line support

And we now support standalone sessions on Windows for WPF and Android, so you can experience the Xamarin Inspector without having to build an app first, or even launch Visual Studio!

Please read the detailed release notes for details on new features!

I can't see the inspect button in Xamarin.Studio any more. In Visual Studio, the inspect menu option stays greyed out.

I've tried reinstalling, but that has no effect. Any advice?

@SpaceMonkey Are you using Xamarin from the alpha channel? It is a requirement now.

@SandyArmstrong I see now, thanks. I'm not using the alpha channel.
