Visual Studio 2008, report viewer not there...I think? Maybe i just can't get to it. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I hope this is the correct forum, sorry if it's not, here's my problem.
    I have Vs 2008,

I set my default for mxl files to open in the "code" view not the designer view.

When I click to open a RDLC file for a report, as expected it opens in xml "code" view mode.

But whne I click to open with, i dont have an option to open it with the report designer.

I can'f find out how to set it back to designer by default not on that popup...

Can anyone assit me in getting the report designer to be able to be opened for rdlc files?

P.S. I forgot to mention, that the reporting controls don't show up in my tool box either when using the designer. Thanks!

  • In case somone else is having this problem...

If I click on te rdlc file in a explorerd folder (yellow explorer), it will open it in VS in the Report designer.
    Better than nothing.

P.S> after i did that, vs2008 started openign them correctly... weird but it worked for me. YMMV
