Community VS 2015 installed as trial version

  • I installed VS Professional 2015 trial version awhile ago and enjoyed it. The license expired and I attempted to uninstall. Attempted to install Community VS 2015, resulted in expired license message. Hired tech to delete remaining files. Second attempt to install had same results. Created a new account and installed Community VS 2015, same expiration message. Ran installation again with repair option. Failed again. Waited a day and started VS again and this time it functioned but stated that it was a trial version that would expire in November. Now, completely at a loss at what to do. Any suggestions?

  • Hi majipoorsbeard,

Visual Studio 2015 Community version is free for us. It prompt you it will expire in November because the signed Microsoft account need to resign again after four months. Then after you re-enter your password, you could continue to use Visual Studio Community again.

So please don't worry about that expiration message in your Visual Studio Community 2015.

    Best Regards,
