How works the Async ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • My question is simple for Microsoft employee : How works the Async ?

In the new Framwork, you don't have to make your own thread to run async method (for exemple to modify the UI). In Silverlight, in a thread where you want to change the UI, you have to use the Dispatcher to call the UI Thread to make your modification.

So my question is simple, how work the core of .NET 4.5? Is there one thread and a scheduler make the work? Does the core create new thread? What happens in the compilator?

    Thank you for your answer
