Python Django Synch DB Fail PTVS

    Question

  • Python Tools For Visual Studio installed in VS 2015; but when I right-click the Project ... Python ... Django Synch DB I get

    Executing manage.py syncdb
    Unknown command: 'syncdb'
    Type 'manage.py help' for usage.
The Python REPL process has exited

This is a straightforward install with Python 2.7 32-bit. Online search: 'synch is deprecated' but I can not see how to accomplish the same end in Visual Studio; which creates a super user for the associated database. Installing some earlier version of Django is sub-optimal; HELP!!! (thanks!)

  • Hi robfatland,

    Thanks for your post.

Could you please tell me what's the version of your Visual Studio?

I did a test in my side using VS2015 Update1. And after I downloaded and installed the python.

When I right click the project->Python->Django Synch DB. I got the same prompt message to you:

Since the Python is integrated with Visual Studio. And the problem is more related to how to use the Python.

I suggest you'd better post this issue to the Python Tools for Visual Studio forum for better support.

    Thanks for you understanding.

    Best Regards,
