Cannot add printer based on custom port monitor RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I want to add a local printer on a port of my own (port monitor created with Win2003DDK working from windows XP to Windows 7x64).

On windows 8 x64, it works correctly.

On Windows 8.1, I get an error message "unable to install printer. Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.".

But with my port monitor, I don't want a real printer, only a gateway from office applications to my app.

Is there something new to implement in my code to validate the printer installation? Or any (new) settings specific to Windows 8.1?

Are there any resources that deals about that problem?

    Thanks for your help!
