Mail Apps for Outlook for Mac RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

The new mail apps (MSDN) of Exchange 2013 (e.g. Bing, etc.) do not seem to work in Outlook for Mac OS. Are there any plans to support the mail apps in Outlook for Mac?

  • When properly updated, Exchange server should work fine with up to date installations of Outlook 2011. Can you be more specific about what "doesn't work" means? Are you getting server errors? Client errors? Connection problems? Having setup problems on the client? On the server?

  • Yes, Outlook 2011 works with EX 2013, but the mail app technology (Integration in Outlook Web App 2013, Outlook 2013 using an iframe in the preview panel) does not seem to be supported in Outlook for Mac.

One Example is the Bing Mail App that is provided with the Installation of Exchange 2013

I did not find any "Apps" menu entry in Outlook for Mac to enable mail apps (e.g. like in OWA or Outlook 2013, there is a "Apps" menu to enable / disable mail apps).

  • I think you are referring to what used to be called “agave” and is now called “apps.”  This is a feature not supported in Office for Mac.
