  • Hi,

I applied Cumulative Update for Servicepack 1 from 07. Jan. 2017 on two SQL Server 2016.

The update run on User Interface well without any error / warning message.

After reboot I checked Event IDs and saw an failed update error related to full text search:

    Event ID: 1024
    Task Category: None

        <Data>SQL Server 2016 Full text search</Data>

It is also the same error for Database Engine Services

  • Hi _Birdal,

Please first run the SQL Server 2016 Discovery Report (Please refer to this article: SQL Server 2012 Discovery Report, the method is same with SQL Server 2016). You can check if SQL Server 2016 has been upgraded successfully. If it is upgraded successfully, you can ignore this message.

If it is not, you can disable Windows Update first and upgrade it again. Here is a similar case: Security Update for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 (KB3045321) update problem.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.
