  • Question

  • Hello Bing team!

We have a question regarding the amount of POIs shown in web control maps VS Bing.com map, exactly for the same location.

For the following example you can see how, in the web control map, the number of POIs are very very few:

    Using web control (API):

    Using Bing Maps.com map:

Do you know how we can see the full amount of POIs in the API web map?

    Thank you!

  • This is by design. An overwhelming majority of enterprise customers of the Bing Maps Enterprise platform don't want these. We had them once and had a large volume of customers ask for them to be removed. Note that majority of the customers of the Bing Maps API's use the maps for line of business task such as business intelligence, asset/fleet tracking. Those that do want POI data on the map often want the ability to remove many of the POI types that appear, especially if their competitors appear on the map. You can easily access POI data form the Bing Spatial Data Services and overlay them on the map as pushpins if you want this. Here is an example that loads nearby POI's as you move the map: http://bingmapsv8samples.azurewebsites.net/#Find%20Nearby%20Search%20-%20Query%20API
